Hello neighbors,
It's been one week since our October 15th election, and we want to share what your newly elected Board has been working on.
Getting organized
As our governing documents require, we held our first Board meeting right after the election to elect the new officers.
Each officer is now working with Associa and attempting to connect with their counterpart on the prior Board. Your new Board of Directors are:
Kimberly Levine, President: Working with Associa to coordinate with the prior Board on a smooth, efficient transition.
Kim is also drawing on her previous board experience to guide our new directors and lead the meetings where we reach decisions together.
Ann Overton, Treasurer: Ann has reached out to the prior Treasurer with an ask to review our current finances.
After the handoff, she will share an updated financial picture, including past legal costs and any expected future expenses that may affect dues.
Jason Schertzinger, Secretary: Working with Associa on the communication channels the Board can use to keep everyone informed.
Amanda McCann, Social Committee Liaison: Partnering with Social Committee President, Lauren Hines, on upcoming planned events.
Scott Farwell, Litigation Liaison: Communicating with Associa to identify conflict-free legal counsel for any open matters and/or matters that may arise during the remainder of 2026.
He has also identified ways to significantly reduce current and any future legal costs.
Scott is also coordinating the handoff of four active lien and foreclosure matters begun under prior boards, with any involved homeowners recused.
Ben Morrow, Pool Management Liaison: Connecting with past pool and swim team staff to plan ahead for next season's budget and staffing.
Lisa Lemenille, Director: Working with fellow directors to shape clear, consistent communications for the community.
Clarifying the transition
Before the election, legal counsel advised both the prior Board and Associa that new directors would be seated at the meeting.
Because the seating wasn't formalized that night, we've asked Associa to confirm which board it takes direction from (the prior board or the newly elected board), so everyday decisions like Fall Festival reimbursements and seasonal landscaping can move forward without delay.
Associa is consulting legal counsel and will respond once it receives guidance.
Associa has confirmed the election results. All seven reform candidates listed above were elected, and each received more votes than any of the prior directors. Associa validated the count through its own internal review, and we've asked that the detailed vote counts be made available to anyone who would like to see them.
Working with the prior board
We welcome the chance to meet with the prior directors to exchange information, and we've said so in writing through Associa.
So far, the only information we've received are the documents already on TownSq; the prior board has not shared any additional content with the new board.
Our goal is to do all we can to ensure a full and smooth handoff.
Our commitments
Transparent communication: We're exploring a dedicated, easy-to-use place for Board minutes and discussions, where residents can share ideas and input, and future boards can see how past decisions were made.
This would allow our neighborhood Facebook group return to what it does best, providing friendly, helpful conversation between neighbors.
Clearer governing documents: We'll work to clarify unclear bylaw and covenant language, starting with when new directors take their seats, how election results are published, and how leadership transitions are handled.
We sincerely thank our prior boards for their service.
The changes we bring are not a criticism of past leadership but are intended to reflect a different leadership-style, one we hope is forward-looking and serves every resident.
Thank you for your trust. We're honored to serve as your neighbors and Board of Directors.
Sincerely,
Kim, Ann, Jason, Amanda, Scott, Ben, & Lisa
